Thank you everyone who came out the the education hearing yesterday. Its really important to show up and make your voices heard. Yesterday they discussed S2481 “Transparency in Health and Sex Education Curriculum Act” and now it is moving onto the senate and our voices NEED TO HE HEARD!
This isn’t enough. We need the “Three Rs” plan to fix New Jersey’s controversial new sex education and diversity and inclusion curriculum requirements: repeal, replace, and restore. Please send this sample letter below by copying and pasting the emails in the bottom, make it your own with your own style.
Dear Honorable Senator,
I am writing to you specifically concerned about the sex education standards and Bill S2481 “Transparency in Health and Sex Education Curriculum Act”. While parents do need transparency in our schools, this just isn’t enough to combat the damage that the new educations standards will do to our schools and our children. The information I have seen regarding these standards is disturbing. These standards are NOT age-appropriate. NJ Public Education is supposed to reflect our collective values as a community. They should be nonpartisan, as well as developmentally, and academically appropriate. These standards do not meet those expectations. The 2014 standards have served us well until now and will do so until reasonable new standards are developed and adopted with proper stakeholder participation. I urge you to repeal the current statewide Health and Physical Education Standards and require local school boards to adopt standards and appropriate curriculum with public input.
I also urge you to please support the following bills to put children’s best interest back in the hands of parents and out of the hands of special interest groups.
S-2233 – Declares the rights of a parent to be fundamental and not subject to infringement by the State absent compelling need.
New Bill (Schepisi/Oroho) – Repeals statewide Health and Physical Education Standards and requires local school boards to adopt standards and appropriate curriculum with public input.
S-2385 – Removes diversity and inclusion instruction requirements for students in grades kindergarten through eight.
S-2280 – Requires school districts to receive written permission from parent or legal guardian before administering certain student health surveys.
New Bill (Durr) – Requires public referendum prior to local boards of education adopting or altering public school curriculum.
S-1550 – Prohibits teaching staff members from inputting information and conversations regarding individually identifiable health information into third-party software applications managed by entities engaging in partisan political activity.
New Bill (Corrado/Bucco) – Establishes “Parents Bill of Rights Act”; prohibits school district from interfering with the fundamental right of parent or guardian to engage in and direct student’s education; permits opt-out of school district curriculum. (Reintroduction of S-4234 from prior session)
S-1571 – Requires public schools to post curriculum plans online; requires school districts to make textbooks or other materials used in implementing curriculum plans available for inspection by parents and legal guardians.
S-2280 – Requires school districts to receive written permission from parent or legal guardian before administering certain student health surveys.
S1106 - Prohibits mandatory use of medical devices by minors without informed parental consent.
I encourage you to make this a priority since parents are already outraged at only a small sample of what is coming from the schools who are trying to test new lessons in the classroom to measure parent feedback.
Sincerely,

ACTION LETTER for Bill S2481
Done. Thank you for the letter and the list of senators to copy/paste!
I sent in my letter with a message to them. They probably won't read our extra messages. In the meantime, I will never call them Honorable. Not even a Judge, there is no honor in these people. Just my .02 cents
