Kristen’s Pick: Andrew Gibson for Barnegat Board of Education
Thanking my lucky stars, Andrew found me. I was starting to think that politics could never be fun or funny again. That men had been so beaten down by the various cultural rules over the last few years, that I had to make all the funnies. And I mean, I’m funny, but I can’t carry the whole State!
So Andrew shows up with this meme, and I’m just “dead” as the youngs say. He had me at a kid getting hit in the head with a dodgeball.
Now of course, I did my due diligence before I endorsed the funny guy. I cruised his social media and googled him.
And when I came across his pitch to be the candidate for Barnegat Board of Education, I realized how much more depth there is the Andrew.
Instead of my usual format, I want you to read about Andrew in his own words.
But first, let me show this funny he made:
Now that you see he’s funny, read about why he’s a rock-solid child advocate.
Meet Andrew Gibson….
Dear Neighbor,
My name is Andrew Gibson. I am a 33 year old Army Veteran and a father of two young children.
I have been compelled to run for Board of Education this year with the hope to serve my community, and specifically its parents and all of their children.
The prospect of entering politics has always seemed a likely scenario in my life, but truthfully the timing came more abruptly than expected for me.
Due to the extraordinary times and more importantly the shortage of extraordinary leadership I can not remain a political spectator any longer.
I have no grand aspirations to be Governor, or President. I simply want to serve my community and protect our children from the wickedness that is stemming from the radical Left in the current political landscape.
I am a Conservative, Christian, who voted for Donald Trump twice. Importantly, I want to make it known that I do not see Democratic voters as enemies. I believe in healthy discussion and heated political debate. Opposition to political issues does not make us foes. I am however deathly serious about expunging the radical policies and teachings of a select few who have hijacked the podium of the political Left.
I am confident that the majority of American voters see more eye to eye than the media would suggest. Especially when it comes to children.
If I must be the only voice on the Barnegat Board of Education who will speak out against the evil “Mandatory Masking” and future “Mandatory Vaccination” of our children. then so be it.
I may actually be the only person qualified, because I am so underqualified to do this job. Those of you reading this may not be aware, but some current Board members are actually opposed to the Executive orders requiring masking passed down by Governor Murphy.
However, they have admitted publicly that that their hands are tied, and that they “must ” vote to enforce the Orders or risk personal punishment, and consequences dealing with their careers. Citing their state licensing that comes with their prestigious career paths. (Lawyers, CPA, Doctors.)
They have admitted to serving their careers over their duty to serve our children.
This is a conflict of interest I do not possess. I am an entrepreneur/ business owner. My votes will not affect my career, but if I do not take just action, my soul will surely suffer.
Current Board members have also stated that they “must” follow the executive orders or the school system could be shut down. I can understand that being problematic.
However due to the “mandatory” masking policy for many parents, the school being closed to them, is already a reality. And for many other parents who do not have the option to homeschool, their values are not being represented, and they are forced to comply.
The Board fails to realize that if schools around the state stood in solidarity against the tyrannic and unscientific Executive orders, the tide would turn quickly against our political ruling class, and the mandates would be lifted quicker than you could say “polling data.”
There is a reason that some states never shut down. There is a reason why some states do not have a “mandatory’ masking policy. It is because the elected politicians knew that The People would not stand for it.
Our current leadership has made it clear that they will not, or cannot stand against medical Tyranny. All the while, their constituents have been forced to either mask or homeschool their children, and absorb the burden associated with it.
A local school nurse was fired for standing up for the children by removing her mask in defiance. Doctors and other professionals have made the choice to leave their careers over losing individual sovereignty. The people are willing to make sacrifices, but not without shock, our elected officials will not.
I am under no disillusion that my single vote would be enough to overturn the board’s decisions, but I pledge to be the voice of medical freedom. I will be a constant opponent against “Mandatory” masking and vaccination of children.
I will also attempt to inspire other Board members to be brave and speak out with me. I will publicly remind them that they are meant to serve the interest of the children and constituents first.
I believe we have a responsibility to reignite a culture of masculinity in our boys. It is our duty to raise men who will lead this country into further greatness. At the same time, we MUST push our girls to be GREAT WOMEN. I will push for and promote any programs or policy that increases competition for all of our students, whether it is in the classroom or on the field of play.
To this end, I would encourage Dodgeball be played in gym class on a weekly basis. The sport of Dodgeball teaches many of the micro-skills of life. You must be fearless to charge the line and competitive enough to win the race to the ball.
You have to be clever and daring to execute a strike under threat of danger and counter strikes. You must be able to adapt your strategy on the fly, work together, and overcome tough times especially when you are the last remaining member of your team left standing.
The most important lesson that can be learned from Dodgeball is that you cannot hide from life. Simply curling up into a ball and hoping for the game to be over or waiting for someone to save you will not suffice.
You have to face up to the world, keep your eye on the ball and try to catch an opportunity. If, in the end, you do get pegged in the face and knocked to the ground, you will have the opportunity to learn how to lose. So, brush yourself and get back into the game.
Recently somebody asked me if students should be taught about The Constitution in school. I was unaware that we had stopped.
I truly believe that we should be teaching students, who are afterall, young Americans, our founding Documents. I’d love to hear the counter argument to this.
I will also be avidly opposed to Critical Race Theory and any similar curriculum. These policies and teachings are Racist. I will not vote YES on anything that suggests that one’s position in life is based on the color of their skin. I also will never support anything that claims that America was founded on Slavery and that the institutions are inherently racsist and evil. Our children should be taught the truth. While we have had some dark periods in this country, America is, was, and always will be the greatest nation in the history of the world. Full Stop.
When it comes to the matter of Sex Ed, I would favor any position or curriculum that values Biology, and respect for all peoples personal choices. I will not vote YES For anything that suggests that Biology is irrelevant, nor a policy that does not respect human individualism. I should also like to add that Sex Ed should be left to older students, and is not an appropriate subject matter for schools to be teaching younger students. This responsibility at an extremely young age should remain with the parents.
I see running for Board of Education as an opportunity to serve. Nothing more.
I look forward to aiding our students in their success, and contributing to straightening our community.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions, and please help me bus sharing or interacting with this post in anyway!
Thank you.
