After the experimental DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Educators) program for 5th and 6th graders failed, you think that the schools would be more careful in what they introduce to your kids. New Jersey schools have another experimental drug program but this program is for kindergarten- 2nd.
BABES stands for
“Beginning Alcohol and Addictions Basic Education Studies is a primary prevention program aimed at children ages 5 to 8. BABES provides factual, non-judgmental information on alcohol and other drugs, and gives children a basic introduction to decision making and coping skills. Topics covered include peer pressure, self-image, and getting help. BABES uses lovable puppet characters to make these valuable lessons interesting and accessible to young children.”
After experimenting on kids with the DARE program, do we really need to have a K-3rd substance abuse program? Many times parents don’t know the right questions to ask about their child’s education so they are railroaded by the school administration.
A parent in Edison NJ brought this to my attention and said,
“Thank you for exposing this as parents have no clue what is being taught with this program. I had major issues when they taught my oldest that I needed to stop taking mind-altering drugs daily. When they asked who's parents take drugs daily, my son implicated me. However, I have a medical condition and take prescription meds. I suffer from depression and have always been open with my children about being responsible for mental health. My, then 8-year-old son at the time could not distinguish between prescribed medications that are required to actual illegal drug use. I have gone round and round with the district and Department of Health of Edison for years and they are not looking to drop this program. Per the district, they feel it is important to introduce these topics to learn about drug use early on and for children to raise issues against their parents. “
The schools who use this program think its important to introduce the concept of addiction as early as possible. Important but by what research studies? A big problem with the schools is that they impose experimental pedagogy, experimental social programs, sex ed programs, and experimental emotional programs on our children with 0 research on outcomes. Like all the other experimental social programs, BABES WORLD program is based on the “belief” of psychologists and there is not one human study that proves that they have had successful outcomes with this program (and it been around since 1977.) All that time and they couldn’t be bothered to determine if this study successfully prevented addiction in kids who took this program?
There’s a bigger problem, You probably don’t even know this is in your school.
Disclaimer: I am a biostatistician and math person with a full-time job. I have also taken on the additional full-time job of trying to save your children from the government. These newsletters are done when I get a spare moment, and have something relevant to say. I do not have time for proofreading. If you are focused on spelling and grammatical errors, you are clearly missing the whole point.
BABES World
This seems completely OFF and inappropriate. Again, I find it to be an attack on children's innocence. It's giving kids knowledge that they cannot properly process. As is demonstrated by the parent's example of her depression medication. This raises many questions in my mind and what if's - seems like it causes more harm and no good.
Thank you for sharing for knowledge is power. Again another attack on our children. We have to continue this fight!!!
