Three are 3 New Jersey bills in the works that make will make it difficult for parents to protect their children from predators. Two of these bills make it impossible for our elected BOE members to shield our children from inappropriate sexually explicit material. We elect school board officials in our schools to reflect our wishes the state is now trying to force sexually materials in the libraries against the wishes of the parents through law.
Senate Bill 2421/Assembly Bill 3446, which eliminates local BOE control to determine what library materials are offered in public school libraries and removes all accountability of library media specialists and librarians for what is being offered as library materials;
Assembly Bill 4120, which prohibits restricting access to books or other resources in public libraries and schools; authorizes withholding of State aid for noncompliance;
Senate Bill 1188/Assembly Bill 2874, which permits minors 14 years of age and older to consent to behavioral health care services without parental notification.
We need BOE members to STAND UP. The NJ Family Policy center is looking for BOE members to sign their petition attached below. So far they have 20 signatures. For more information please contact Shawn hyland at shyland@njfpc.org
Two thirds of NJ 8th graders are not proficient in math, and this anti-parent groomfest is what our elected representatives and educators are riveted on. Total BS.
We just defeated this library bill in Connecticut. Feel free to contact me. We have a great flyer I can help you get to your legislators. Here is the website we used: https://noalacontrol-ct.org
