The events this year at the Hunterdon Central Regional High school have been inappropriate and down right shocking. Hunterdon ended last year with an pro-abortion rally that ended up in a violent riot and this year started out with drag shows where the kids performed for the staff at the expense of learning time. Jeff Moore made the decision to limit spectators at the volleyball senior night to punish the kids for unfounded accusations at a soccer game, however, spectators, including famous Drag Queen Phoebe MannTrappe (Kevin Gilmore) allegedly showed up to view the drag performance, THAT same day where the seniors were not permitted to have an outside audience on volleyball night.
This is all just unacceptable.
For years, staff concerns have fallen on def ears. The school staff insists that ALL children must have the best possible education and learning environment and your superintendent is NOT providing that. They are ready to stand up FOR YOUR KIDS, but they need your help. ALL parents MUST come out at the BOE meeting Monday November 21st. The job of the school board is to hold the superintendent accountable to the parents and the staff. It is the job of the PARENTS to make a large showing to support to their children and the school staff.
Please come out to hear your teachers support your children.
As a side note, Kevin Gilmore does an amazing Tina Turner. Phoebe Manntrappe is truly a high level, high class Drag Queen. I looked up the performances and I found them to be pretty amazing. All my love and wishes to Kevin. However, this is just not appropriate for high school, but I don’t think it’s Kevin’s responsibility to recognize that. Its the superintendent that should know better. Jeff Moore needs to ensure that appropriate boundaries drawn for minors and this just crosses that boundary, especially when non-parental adults are participating or viewing the activity.
There are things for adults, like alcohol, marijuana, strip clubs, drag shows, bars, and gambling that shouldn’t be shared with children by their teachers. No one would even approve student/teacher craps night at the high school. No one would want a Hooters wings luncheon served by the senior girls. At least I hope not. All of this may seem harmless, but it isn’t. When you mix kids and adults in these types of activities, its just wrong, it crosses boundaries of appropriateness and professionalism.
This isn’t you sitting down with your kids playing poker night, or you watching former episodes of Rue-Paul’s Drag Race with your High school, or even middle school child. This isn’t a mom/sister/friend letting her boy/brother/friend get into her makeup and clothes to experiment. I can’t stress enough that there needs to be appropriate boundaries between students and teachers. There is not a thing wrong with drag, or any of the other things I mentioned above, It just is not for K-12 schools.
Thanks Nik for keeping us informed. This nonsense has to stop!!
Another eye opener. I was appalled to learn of Drag Queen Story hour presentation as part of the NJEA Teachers Convention in AC last week!!!!! As well as the author of the 1619 Project as a key note speaker!! What the heck???!!!
