“Mr. Spiller,

I disagree with the mask and testing mandate for school districts. I also disagree with the NJEA push for vaccinations for students and staff. Anything the NJEA is selling, I’m not buying. 

Governor Murphy lifted the mask mandate for the residents of New Jersey in May of 2021. The NJEA made a statement around May 20thstating that masks would be required for students and staff come September. What science did you follow with that statement? Ooh ooh let me guess, political science?

Children have been running around unmasked for months outside of school. Why? Because masks don’t work. Because it’s a sham. You think a cloth mask from Old Navy is going to stop the spread of an illness? If you believe that, I have a block of ice that won’t melt during the hottest day in August to sell you. A cloth mask from Old Navy is going to stop the spread! Now, reread that statement again. A cloth mask from Old Navy is going to stop the spread of a disease? Would science agree that a cloth mask from Old Navy is a deterrent against the spread of Covid 19 or any of its variants? 

We are no better now than we were in April of 2020 or April of 2021.  Your narrative has scared educators and school staff. Your narrative has created mass hysteria. Your narrative that children are super spreaders is nauseating and repulsive. Our children are our most vulnerable, most precious assets. Your narrative and stance is hurting our most precious. 

I’ve seen your posts, your pictures on social media. How is it to attend events in the middle of a deadly pandemic UNMASKED? You’re a hypocrite and should be ashamed of yourself for the ridiculous narrative you’re putting out into the world. 

That petition you have going around is NONSENSE. You want to be masked and muzzled when you choose to do so, (although the photos above paint a very different picture) go right ahead. But we really know the deal here. There is NO reason that my 8 year old child should be muzzled all day? It’s unsanitary. It’s mentally and emotionally taxing. It’s degrading and it doesn’t protect against Covid. You know it, I know it and the rest of New Jersey is catching on. 

I am an educator that left the NJEA in January of 2020. Why? Because of the multiple political agendas that put our children in the middle of political theater. Stop using our children and our educators as political pawns to further your personal and political agenda(s).

The sad part is most of your membership has no idea what the NJEA really is. It’s a political organization that manipulates its members. Do you know how many of your members don’t actually know that their union dues fund political campaigns? Yes, I know there are voluntary PACs. This is different. You take peoples hard earned money and fund political campaigns that don’t align with their beliefs and they don’t even know about it! It’s not about the greater good with this association. It’s about what’s good for politics. You’re the President of the NJEA and the Mayor of Montclair, very telling. 

Perhaps you should distribute truthful information to your union members about their union dues and the true mission of the NJEA. It’s certainly not about educators and it’s not about the children. But don’t worry I’ve been doing it for you. I’ve given about 100 education employees the termination paper so they can leave the NJEA and invest their money elsewhere. 🙌 That’s the beauty of Enlightenment. I enlighten those who are willing and open to listen; helping defund the NJEA one association member at a time.
