Kristen’s Pick: Edward Durr, NJ Senate LD3
That’s right. I’m picking the man who is up against the political power broker of the State. The King in the South. He who shall not be named.
I periodically have the privilege to appear on Steve DiOrio’s Saturday morning radio show on 92.1 FM, where he broadcasts weekly from Vineland during the 10-11AM slot. Steve has given Nik and me countless opportunities to spread our message. I always look forward to those appearances, because on radio, with an ally on the other line, you can be fearless.
On one such morning, as I listened to the guest appearing after my appearance, I first learned of the candidate brave enough to run against the reining King of the New Jersey Senate, ruling as President since 2010.
That’s a race I wouldn’t have the courage to touch. And as I listened to man bold enough to take on a political giant, I was reminded of the story of David and Goliath.
Excerpt from 1 Samuel 17:
42 He looked David over and saw that he was little more than a boy, glowing with health and handsome, and he despised him. 43 He said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come at me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. 44 “Come here,” he said, “and I’ll give your flesh to the birds and the wild animals!” 45 David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied... 50 So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him.
You get the idea.
Meet Edward Durr…
Kristen: Who are you?
Edward: I am Edward Durr, I am LD3 Republican Senate candidate. Yes that is right I am running against the man himself, Sweeney.
He can be defeated. Actually, I out-voted him in the primary this year, first time it happened in 20 years.
I am a father of 3, grandfather of 6. I am conservative and believe in God. I am a truck driver for the last 25 years.
I have never held any political office, but I feel I have something to offer the people of NJ.
Kristen: Why are you running?
Edward: I am running because I believe our government has failed us and I want to return government to the people. As my tee shirt says on back, "Government for the people, by the people & of the people"!
Kristen: What is your stance on parental choice for medical freedom in schools?
Edward: I believe parents should be the ones to decide whether a child wears a mask or get vaccinated or be taught sex education!
Kristen: What is your favorite amendment?
Edward: Actually I love many amendments but what truly brought me into politics was the fact my rights were being crushed whether it be the 1st amendment or the 2nd amendment.
Kristen: Give me your best pitch on why and how we can support your campaign?
Edward: I ask for your support for my campaign is because I believe Sweeney has been a bully and taken advantage of the people over his 30 years in government!
You can help with volunteers! I need phone callers making calls to the voters! I need walkers helping giving out literature every weekend! I can always use money to buy the things I need to combat Sweeney's attacks on me. Which he has already started on September 1st with a hit ad on cable tv. I have plans laid out to attack certain areas that I feel I can change the status quo.
I would welcome any help you and your group can offer, even if it just pray. Because we are in a fight and I am in it to win it!
Now you see what I see in this fantastic, brave, patriotic candidate.
Let’s roll.
