A lot of South Jersey Schools are stepping up to make sure that parents are informed on the new sex ed health standards. Hammonton Public Schools in South Jersey is going above and beyond, by not only informing parents of the changes to the new Sex Ed Curriculum, but also providing the details with student lessons, along with an easily obtainable opt-out form that parents can print out right from their website..
Additionally, Hammington Public Schools have managed to keep their curriculum age-appropriate and still meet the standards.
Below is from the 2nd grade lesson which is completely age appropriate, unlike the debacle in Cherry Hill, where the nurse decided it was appropriate to show 1st graders naked cartoon pictures of children. Gender Identity addressed in an age appropriate way , where “the overall message is that whether you are a boy or a girl, you are free to express yourself. A person’s choices are not limited by their gender, for example choice of careers, clothing, hobbies, etc. ”
The concepts of gender identity and gender expression become more detailed as the children get to the older grades, but at least its only 1 day and you can easily opt out. You can see the rest of the grades standards by clicking on the website. Have your seen your new lessons that will be given to your kids to accommodate the new sex ed learning standards?
Why is gender identity even being taught? What is there to be explored? It seems that Anglophone countries are reverting to atavistic stereotypes of what is male and female....and how they should act.
Some of you may find this interesting.....
