A handful of school districts still require students to wear masks masks in heavily democrat areas in the United states.
John Abeigon, Newark Teacher’s Union President claims that due to ESSEX County’s “low” COVID vax rates, Newark Public Schools must remain masked in September 2022.
Now lets look at what the NJ state website says about Newark.
Looks like John got some bad numbers. Newark’s vaccination rate is much higher than what he claims the county has. I don’t know where he got his numbers but he is CLEARLY INCORRECT by a large margin.
Now lets look what is happening in the bordering town, seems like Elizabeth has comparable vaccination rates.
Elizabeth seems to have a lower 5-11 child rate than Newark, but they have been mask optional since Murphy lifted the mandate back in March.
So what could be the REAL reason Newark remains masked?
Here’s another interesting statistic for you… Newark has over double the number of black students than Elizabeth. Newark has 38.8% black students and Elizabeth has 17.0% black students.
I can’t confirm this is racially motivated, but the percentages don’t lie. I can only confirm that John’s decision to mask the kids has nothing to do with vaccination rates.
Here’s a text message exchange for you to read From Mr. Abeigon, he clearly thinks these kids are dirty virus spewing machines… but you know, forget the fact that vaccinated kids spread virus too according to the CDC.

Please drop the Newark BOE a message and tell them to “UNMASK THE KIDS! YOU ARE WRONG ABOUT THE VAX NUMBERS! If Elizabeth can unmask then so can Newark!” Emails below. Also feel free to copy the message from John Abeigon and send that to them too.

This is unreal. The Democrats clearly want to keep another generation of children uneducated and poverty stricken, emotionally and psychologically burdened by mask wearing. Keeping these kids in poverty and on social programs is the way to ensure that they vote Democrat. What a sick joke.
I should be shocked and speechless but being a parent in Newark sadly I am not even surprised. These people treat us like garbage. I’ve been fighting, putting myself out there. My child’s medical mask exemption was denied last year. This year I really hoped I wouldn’t have to go through this again. But here we are. I have a new exemption, submitted a week ago and they still have’t told me if it’s denied or approved. I stood my ground yesterday during meet and greet at her school and told them she is not wearing a mask. Security guards did not let us in. One said she never heard of medical exemption and doesn’t know what that is. They called principal but she didn’t come. Nurse came and in front of other started talking so I asked if we could talk in private. She said ok, and she is only letting my child in on that day. If you could imagine how I felt, how my 6 year old must have felt. The principal was leaving a room and noticed me so she quickly closed it back and disappeared, clearly did not want to face me. I emailed her the day before that my child will be showing up maskless.
There is one day left and I still don’t know if my child will be attending school. She tells me she wants to wear her new pink shoes on the first day. …
I explained to her what is happening, that she might not attend school just yet ( I will homeschool).
I think the only reason I survived yesterday and went through it, was because of deep prayer.
These people, the board, the superintendent, the union president, principal, health department, mayor are terrible human beings.
