Murphy and his buddies are always trying to protect us from ourselves by forcing us to do things that we don’t want to do. This new level of “protection” will definitely will effect people with lower incomes. In August 2022, our Democrat dominated Legislature approved a bill to increase the minimum coverage limits in two phases. It forces NJ drivers to have more financial protection behind the wheel, adding to your financial burden. New Jersey’s minimum car insurance limits will increase in two phases: first in January 2023 and then again in January 2026.
Estimates of the expected premium increase for affected drivers range from $99 to $200 per year per vehicle.
Approximately 1.1 million to 1.2 million vehicles will be affected by this change, which accounts for 22 to 30 percent of New Jersey policyholders
$99 to $200 per year per vehicle this year wouldn’t break the bank, but with increasing rent, taxes, tolls and other costs of NJ daily life, this will add up. NJ People are being nickel and dimed into poverty or moving out to a more cost efficient state.
