The parents I know have been screaming about the state standards since before they were voted on in 2020. Lowering the sex education ages and teaching wokeology is not a popular idea among parents. Since Senator Holly Schepisi alerted parents to prepared lesson plans, parents are outraged the left has been scrambling control the damage.
The NJEA created a disinformation alert that states that “Political consultants and partisan pundits have seized upon this curriculum to make wild accusations about children being taught sexually explicit and age-inappropriate lessons.”
Governor Murphy has been back pedaling and said that he will take a second look at the standards.
Then Murphy uses his typical doublespeak to back pedal his concern and gaslight parents, “Unfortunately, our learning standards have been intentionally misrepresented by some politicians seeking to divide and score political points," and goes on to post this on twitter:
None of that is true. Those lessons have already been actually used in NJ schools according to Senator Schepisi and parents.
State Senator Vin Gopal, who serves as chairman of the State’s Education Committee, said the conversation surrounding public education was full of misinformation. He added that no one want to teach sex to kindergartners and first graders. He’s mincing words, they STILL want to start teaching these new standards in second grade. Click Here for the full Article. Masturbation is still a topic for 5th grade and anal and oral sex is still a topic for 8th grade. Its still bad. To read the standards for yourself, click the button below.
Planned Parenthood of NJ and the ACLU of NJ are pressuring Murphy to keep the standards the way they are. The ACLU put out a communication to remind him “inclusive sex education is education.”
We, as concerned parents, need to put pressure on Murphy and local state senators and assemblymen. There is a lot of pressure from special interests to harm our kids and we need to INSIST that PARENTS be in the drivers seat.
We need to DEMAND that Murphy delay the implementation of any new human sexuality standards until the 2023/2024 school year.
We need to insist that the legislature form a Education Advisory Committee and include parents, local mental health professionals, and other community members with diverse views, ethnicities, faiths, etc. This fosters collaboration and community buy in, versus allowing third parties with their own agenda to be in the driver seat.
We have outlined the inappropriate standards in 3 separate articles: By the end of 2nd, 5th, and 8th:

I ran screaming last year from Monmouth County to Florida. I’ve never been more glad about it—and I don’t even HAVE kids! NJ is a cesspool under #SanctuaryPhil !
It all must be removed completely from all grades. The disrespect of the students right now towards anyone is horrible. The system wants the chaos. These schools are in the toilet,
