Et Tu, Brute?
Yes, us too.
We know your game. We always knew how you played.
Our parents didn’t want to play in your mudpit. They didn’t want to lay with pigs…
Me? I love your game. I watched it on TV. I absorbed the culture of the great smear, the ultimate burn.
The movie of my generation? Mean Girls. Slam books? We made those during lunch period with loose-leaf paper, staples and pure cruelty.
We hurt feelings for sport. Even as we got older, our friends were our favorite practice targets. Before there were “snowflakes”, there were “roasters”, ready to burn at a moment’s notice.
Then one day, I got cancer. The ultimate burn, my own body saying to me, die. Hmmm. I could understand the universe’s message: This might be last call. Use that sharp tongue for good.
So, I’m not dead yet. But I am finally sick to death of watching hypocrisy rule the day, while children suffer.
We know you sold them. We know the price. I read the ESSR applications. I watched you pass the resolutions for SEL hirings, intended to spend the money you collected for actually admitting the closures were harmful for children.
We read your playbook in college. We listened to the attempted indoctrination to diminish our patriotism by Professors infected with leftist hatred for America, even as our classmates left us to join the fights in Iraq, Afghanistan…
You showed your hands in public meetings. We saw you give the signals. We knew the national scene was a swamp, the states were battlegrounds, and counties were fiefdoms for corporate donors to divvy up contracts to their minion army.
We wanted to think our towns had unique character, and that the schools were still places of national pride and community spirit.
Your biggest unforced error?
The unfettered Covid cash grab scheme. It’s so obvious, disgusting, and one more thing…it’s unifying.
EO 264? The final straw.
The parent army has a mission: We will vote you out.
If you stand up, and publicly disavow Governor Murphy’s baby mask mandate EO 264, maybe, MAYBE you won’t be given the treatment plan.
We will give you a chance. Speak now, or be ready for the press arm of the parent union to “Meet & Greet” you.
You are on notice. Get your press releases ready, incumbents.
The slam book is being assembled.
