Its the first week of school (or second depending on where you live in NJ) and kids are already doing 10 to 14 days of quarantine, depending on their vaccination status of course. People thought they could go back to work, but no. Not happening.
Looks like at least the teens are happy to be back.
If kids are in school, they will get infected. Don’t kid yourself and think a mask will stop that.
But the worst part is, they have different quarantine rules for different vaccination status, in almost every school.
The sad part is, the schools aren’t even following the advice of the NJ health department. Those kids who had COVID in the past 90 days shouldn’t be prevented from going to school as shown by this document below.
It seems very wrong to tell asymptomatic, unvaccinated kids they can’t come back to school with no remote option for over a week. This WILL have an effect on their grades. This will be another year lost of learning in NJ. Where is our free and adequate public education?
Its not going to be a normal year by a longshot, especially if you are target for having seasonal allergies.
