So many people online have told me that they were afraid to homeschool because their child has an IEP. They are afraid that they cannot give their child the special help that only a public school can provide. I am pleased to tell you about my friend Merissa (Missy) who I met online through fighting these mandates.
When this pandemic started was teaching special needs preschool and a local public school district. She had to teach children with autism virtually. Its obvious to any parent that its virtually impossible for kids with special needs to learn this way. She saw firsthand the struggles of the children and the families.
She chose to not go back to teaching in Sept. 2020 within the public districts or state agencies for a few reasons. Merissa knew that she COULD NOT and WOULD NOT enforce masking her students. It was important for her to be home with her own children while they were learning virtually. And lastly she knew the vaccine mandate was coming for teachers.
As the months went on she realized that this was God’s plan. She set herself on a new mission to use her skills to help parents who want to homeschool their children but may feel that they cannot do it alone because their child has an IEP, behavior issues or diagnosis of autism.
If you are interested in any of Merissa’s services you can find her on facebook and click here or e-mail at missingpeace123.gmail.com. Send her a message and see how she can help you give your child the education they deserve.
