This time last year in 2021, I voted with my head. I made the trip to meet Jack Ciattarelli in Ocean County the day before the primary. I shook his hand, got a great picture with him, and pledged my efforts to support him through November.
History is history, but bottom line, there was no place for our grassroots Tiger parents in the messaging of the traditional, centrist campaigning. I was disillusioned by October, and I predicted the future shortly before the final two weeks of the election.
Despite my urging to upper campaign staffers, there was no signal from Jack that he heard our suggestions.
And then he lost.
The messaging failed.
This year, this primary, I’m voting with my heart. And I plan to bring my sons to the polls today, to plant the seeds in them as well, that America is great because of our rights, and that to preserve and protect those rights, they have a duty to participate in every election.
Bring your kids in the booth. Tell them who you are voting for, explain why. They need to know what it means to have natural rights, and how to identify the forces at work in government seeking to subvert those natural rights.
Our freedom is always just one generation away from evaporation.
Water those seeds with knowledge.
Voting in the primary is one of the ways you can make significant change in New Jersey.
