Hanover Township BOE did the right thing. This Tuesday they passed a resolution to require school staff to notify parents of their children’s gender identity and sexual orientation.
And for doing the right thing for parents, and supporting our right to protect and support our children, the Attorney General (AG) Matthew J. Platkin responded with a lawsuit attacking the BOE of Hanover Township.
And of course, King Murphy is on board with this. He doesn’t believe in parental rights or protecting children’s mental health. He has proven this by masking our kids for 2 years.
It jeopardizes our children’s mental health when the school actively HIDES vital information from parents. The NIH says that 82% of transgender individuals have considered killing themselves and 40% have attempted suicide. Young adults who commit suicide do so due to a lack of connection to friends and family, and hiding the truth from parents prevents even a chance of helping to foster a vital connection that could prevent a death.
Murphy has no clue when it comes to children or mental health since he is the one who created COVID policies that resulted in the largest youth mental health crisis in the history of New Jersey. He has no ability to determine what our children need in terms of mental health.
Let us elevate the topic for a moment. The specifics of what Hanover school’s staff are going to reveal to the parents about the child is actually irrelevant. More important is the overarching implication of this lawsuit is that parents do NOT have a right to know what happens to their kids in the NJ Public Schools.
This is just the typical move by the Murphy administration to use LGBTQ+ rights as a smokescreen to mask anti-parent and statist policies. The current LGBTQ+ topic is enough of a third rail that the conversation gets bogged down in a back-and-forth about LGBTQ+ rights.
That is why it is so important for us to keep an eye on the ball. This has nothing to do with "outing" gay children. What this has to do with is the rights of New Jersey parents. The unspoken contract of the public education system is that parents send their children to school , and in return, expect the children to not only gain an education but also to be safe and protected. Part of that safety is the understanding that the parents would be notified if anything happens with their child, physically or mentally, which is why this move by the AG is so shocking. Hanover's policy is not aberrant. It is exactly in line with how the Public School system has operated since its inception.
Parents should want to be included in their children’s education and know what happens to their children during the school day. This is NOT a partisan issue, nor should this be. This move by Murphy and the AG is shameful and their LGBTQ+ smokescreen should not divide New Jersey parents on this vital issue.
As usual, it comes down to the very succinct question: what is the role of our public schools in our children's lives? And as usual, our answer here is the same: to educate our kids. How much more social engineering are we going to tolerate before we say enough is enough? Sure, some progressive parents may be OK with this move from the perspective of "saving" some LGBTQ+ children from bigoted parents. But life isn't a Netflix movie. One day, the same principle of "don't tell the parents about their own child" will be used in a way they don't like - and by then, there will be nobody left in this state to fight back.
Here is the BOE's response :
I very much would like to speak with any parents who have been harmed by these policies for the purpose of potentially intervening in the lawsuit. Otherwise, if East Hanover is interested in hiring outside counsel, I would be very interested. Finally, we may be able to intervene on behalf of a parent group. This will not be an inexpensive undertaking. But I believe the policies are unconstitutional, and the right arguments must be made or we can have a disastrous court decision which is binding throughout the state. It may be time for a class action suite against the state or at the very least a counter suit. So they are saying that the schools knowing about a child’s sexual status is appropriate? Based off what? The idea that they believe they can protect that child better then the parent who gave birth to that child? What gives them this right? They are literally putting the idea of suicide into these kids heads! They are the true problem when it comes to our kids mental health. This has never been as much of an issue or on such a wide scale as it is in the last 3 years since they forced our kids to socially segregate with Covid. The Department of Education is sponsored by the WEF and that is who is at the head of indoctrinating our children into this World Economic Forum based ideology.
