Use Less Electricity - Murphy's Solution to Rising Energy Costs
Trenton -- always of thinking of taxpayers and improving our standard of living <insert eye roll here>
New Jersey’s working families are being crushed by a relentless property tax burden that is on the rise. Instead of fixing the bloated, corrupt education system that wastes billions on useless administrators and broken programs, the state is stealing money from hardworking suburban communities and pouring it into failing urban districts that never show real improvement. There is no accountability, no real reform, just the same broken system demanding more and more while families are forced to sacrifice even more of their paychecks. Success is punished, waste is rewarded, and the people footing the bill are treated like an endless ATM for politicians too incompetent to fix the real problems. As if we didn’t have enough added costs to living in New Jersey, starting June 1st, electricity bills will have an average monthly increase ranging from 17.23% to 20.20%.
Estimated Increases:
Atlantic City Electric: 17%, according to WHYY
JCP&L: 20%, according to ROI-NJ.
PSE&G: 17%, according to ROI-NJ.
Rockland Electric: 18%, according to ROI-NJ.
Murphy and his band of bureaucratic bandits have come up with a solution so insulting, it’s almost impressive: they want you to ration your electricity like you’re living in a 3rd world country.
After years of reckless decision-making in Trenton, where they shut down reliable nuclear plants, blocked critical pipeline projects, and forced expensive, unreliable energy schemes like offshore wind onto the grid, Murphy’s answer to the crisis they created is to send you a text message warning that your bill is about to explode. No real reforms. No accountability. Just another pathetic attempt to dump the burden onto working families.
The skyrocketing costs aren’t some random accident or a result of “greedy” utility companies; it’s a perfect storm of bad leadership: increased demand for electricity, a lagging supply of energy, and a government that keeps making it worse. According to Shore News Network, New Jersey’s energy crisis is related to reckless political decisions that gutted the state's power grid. Since 2017, six major power plants have been shut down, wiping out more than 2,500 megawatts of desperately needed capacity. Among them was the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station, one of the few stable, zero-carbon sources of energy New Jersey had left. Instead of replacing this lost power with anything reliable, the state stumbled ahead with fantasy energy policies, leaving residents to pay the price. The result is a grid that is weaker, more expensive, and increasingly dependent on imported electricity. Demand keeps rising due to Murphy’s electric vehicle push, supply keeps shrinking, and Trenton’s answer is to double down on the same failed ideas that broke the system in the first place.
Phil Murphy had the nerve to stand at the March budget hearing and double down on his fantasy of 100 percent green energy by 2035, no matter the cost to taxpayers. Phil Murphy proudly declared New Jersey a "global innovator" and a "world leader" in clean energy, as if anyone outside Trenton could give a care. He bragged about doubling solar energy output since 2017 and claimed it delivered "affordable energy" to residents… then, straight-faced, told everyone there was "no additional cost to taxpayers or ratepayers." Sure, Phil. Maybe he hasn’t looked at an electric bill lately, but we have. The rise in solar in 2017 was supposed to be the answer to the closure of the six New Jersey power plants, but solar is inefficient, resulting in the supply crisis affecting our electric bills today. Then, he boasted that in February, he threw another $135 million of taxpayer money at businesses and local governments to expand their electric vehicle fleets, all for his imaginary "Clean Energy Future," creating even more demand for energy that we currently don’t have. Murphy and his mostly Democratic legislature continue the same poor policies that are increasing utility rates. He touts the virtue of fighting climate change and creating union jobs, but the only thing he’s creating is misery for working families.
This summer, we’ll all be roasting in 90-degree homes with the lights off. This winter, we’ll be shivering in the dark. Welcome to Murphy’s Green Utopia — where the elites get paid in fantasy woke tokens, and the rest of us pay for it.

The actual destruction of our power grid goes back over 20 years , but we'll blame Murphy because his progressive California policies made it worse, The Democrats past policy's had PSEG shut down its Mercer and Hudson stations even though they had back end clean technology in them, their was also a power plant in the old Fairless Steel site that burnt garbage methane from landfill nearby shutdown, Sadly even the Unions supported shutting down these plants , I remember getting into an argument with a union bigwig 20years ago he told me they would never shutdown Mercer generator plant , he told me I was crazy to tell him the environmentalist wanted it shut, but no new plants were ever built to replace them and now there is a megawatt shortage in the PJM northeast grid ,they had us all switch to LED lighting Murphy even outlawed 4'florescent lamps to save money and be green and get solar panels. but now! They tell use we all need IA , but those Data centers need a substantial amount of power compared to conventional data centers so all the efficiency we saved from switching to LED and solar is now gone thanks to more Data centers and AI Data centers. We are living in the upside down world now!
Spot on as always. Thanks for being such a great fighter, Nik.
