Westwood eliminates videoing in school.
What happen to the one party law in the state of New Jersey?
The Westwood board passed a policy at the last board meeting prohibiting the use of video recordings on school grounds. Back in June James o Keefe spoke at the board meeting stating,
“I’ll be giving out hidden cameras to parents and sometimes students, if anyone wants one.”
This caused a major uproar from the left. What are they so afraid of? What are they hiding? Are they hiding the fact that there is a convicted pedofile that was teaching in the middle school Kurt Zimmerman?
Zimmerman was charged back in 2003 and 2011 for sexual assault of a minor prior to being employed by Westwood school District. Now years later charged a third time with three counts of third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

How was he able to pass a background check? The case is pending an investigation.
We asked the current board and the Super Int Jill Mortimer for clarity and comment.
Dear Superintendent and board members,
I am reaching out to express my profound concern regarding the employment practices within our district, specifically relating to the hiring of individuals with questionable backgrounds. It has come to my attention that Kurt Zimmerman, a former employee, was hired despite having a substantial criminal history, including a charge for the sexual assault of a minor in 2003, with additional charges continuing up to 2011. This alarming information raises serious questions about the efficacy of our background check processes and the overall commitment to the safety of our students.
Given that Mr. Zimmerman commenced his employment in Westwood in 2010, it is imperative to understand how such a significant oversight occurred. Can we, as a community, confidently assert that our district is exercising due diligence to safeguard our children? The necessity for transparency in these matters cannot be overstated, especially now that I have learned there may be others with similar histories employed within our district.
Moreover, I am concerned about the district's response to past allegations, such as those involving Bruce Thames. The dismissive attitude towards these serious allegations is not only disheartening but also calls into question the district's priorities. It is the fundamental responsibility of the Superintendent and the district at large to ensure that individuals with serious criminal charges are unequivocally ineligible for employment within our schools.
In light of these issues, I request clarification on whether the board was aware of Mr. Zimmerman's allegations in 2013. I have sought access to the meeting minutes, driven by a growing suspicion that there may be attempts to withhold information from parents. Transparency is crucial, and the community deserves to be informed about the measures being taken to address these grave concerns.
It is our collective responsibility to foster a safe and nurturing environment for our children. I urge you to review and strengthen our background check procedures and to engage with parents transparently about the actions being taken to prevent similar oversights in the future. Our children's safety and well-being must always be our paramount concern.
Thank you for your attention to this critical matter. I look forward to your prompt response and to seeing decisive action taken to reassure all parents and guardians of the district's commitment to their children's safety.
This is what Jill Mortimer had to say.
I guess spring break is more important…….
We deserve transparency when it comes to the welfare and safety of our children.
This district can make whatever policy they want but the fact remains New Jersey is a one party state.
Ms. Mortimore, thank you for agreeing to look into the allegation. Your paychecks will be withheld until after we hear back from you after spring break. Thank you.
you cant stop people from recording so its useless
