Why is Westwood So Woke?

Accountability rests in many places, but this one will shock you...

It’s been 7 months of high drama at the Westwood NJ Regional School District Board Meetings where a small but extremely aggressive mob of activists have repeatedly disrupted the meetings turning them into what amounts to a monthly LGBTQ+ political rally. Under the pseudo guise of empathy, kindness and inclusion, left wing members of this community (and activiests from outside the community) come to the school board to scream, threaten and accuse in an effort to silence dissent to their efforts to further push the LGBTQ+ agenda into the district. This behavior is in direct response and retaliation for the School Board making valiant attempts to prioritize objective education and academic excellence while removing politics from schools over gender, sexuality and oppression/victimization culture.

It raises an interesting question. Why is this happening in Westwood, New Jersey? Westwood is a very classic Americana mid to upper middle class town. Its quaint streets are lined with shops, restaurants and theaters as well as a beautiful central park with a traditional gazebo for town gatherings and entertainment. The visually diverse community is surrounded by school districts that are NOT embroiled in LGBTQ+ or other progressive-related drama as Westwood is. What has mobilized this activism and why is this microcosm so aggressive in an otherwise traditional town.

It’s a serious question, and the theory may surprise you.

Westwood stands right now as the epicenter of a massive progressive ideology push into their local education system, the intensity of which far surpasses most of the surrounding communities. Within the schools, teachers have hung sexuality declaring Pride flags on many walls and most classrooms, even in the elementary school. From Kindergarten though the 12th grade, all students are made aware of the sanctity of Pride. Safe spaces and subtle pressure against traditional value systems that differ from the LGBQ+ agenda are felt throughout. From the secular confidentiality of the classroom and their position of authority, parents have raised concerns that some teachers are teaching to the students their own personal political and values commentary rather than an objective unbiased approach to the curriculum. The Union comes to the board meetings draped in Pride Flags, but doesn’t show up for state score reviews of the district. Alongside this, weaponized students crowd school board meetings to advertise their LGBTQ+ status. In an effort to climb the safe space ladder to the top of the oppression pyramid, they parade their sexuality victimization and mental health issues as a badge of achievement. This is further cheered on by a minority of left ideologist parents who showcase their social justice warrior children like a new currency to buy them a lofty place in the hierarchy of virtue signaling

Further driving this climate are NJ’s sexual education curriculum and policies. These hotly contested dictates from Trenton guide teachers and the administration to teach mature subjects in ages parents across the state believe are much too young. The guidelines also support school staff in excluding parents from critical gender and sexual knowledge pertaining to their children (among other pronouncements). All of this is promoted under the guise of child protection and safety. It’s a perfect storm, and fully capitalized upon by the vocal progressive minority in Westwood.

Considering that this show of force for the LGBTQ+ agenda doesn’t exist nearly on the same level in any of the surrounding towns, it calls to question why this is happening in Westwood. Township of Washington is connected directly to Westwood and shares the school district as part of the region, and also happens to be one of the most conservative communities in Bergen County. So why is Westwood such an anomaly?

There is one of a few epicenters that seems to create a direct link between the community, the activism and the LGBTQ+ push. A potential root cause that rests at the base of Westwood’s Reformed Parkside Community Church. There is a significant series of correlations that link the town unrest and the left agenda to this particular church. Over the last several years, the PCC seems to have made a concerted effort to promote the LGBTQ ideology in multiple ways.

PCC is led by a Pastor who is a graduate of the Western Theological Seminary. WTS is a private seminary affiliated with the Reformed Church in America. The Pastor has been guiding this congregation under the guise of tolerance and Christianity since 2001. That’s a long time to influence not only the adults in the town, but no less than two generations of children.

The Pastor seems to have taken a strong stand in support of the LGBTQ+ agenda.

·     He preaches from the pulpit bearing an LGBTQ+ rainbow stole as his vestment.

·     He has made a declarative move committing to the LGBTQ+ agenda on the PCC’s welcome and FAQ pages of their website, which is also covered in photographs highlighting the Pride Flag.

·     It also is interesting to note that many of the most aggressive and repeated attacks on the board’s efforts to prioritize academics and curb the invasive left authoritarianism around the LGBTQ+ agenda have been made by congregation members of this church.

·     One of the church elders has a transitioned child and is a notoriously vicious Facebook keyboard warrior. This individual openly supports the exclusion of any community member who disagrees with the LGBTQ+ Agenda.

·     PCC also supported the election of a current school board member who has a questionable ethical history and is fully supported by the mob. They ensured his entry into the local senior citizen center through their free meals program to allow him access to a highly influenceable and vulnerable voter community barely out of the grips of Covid.

·     PCC is a proud rostered church with the pseudo-religious organization “Room for All”. Room for all is dedicated to pushing the LGBTQIA+ agenda within the US Reformed Church Movement.

“Room for All” Their Mission is to support, educate, and advocate for the welcome and full affirmation of people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions in the RCA and surrounding communities of people of faith.

·     The Pastor is significantly involved with at least one of the Parent Student Organization leaders at the WWRSD high school who is a passionate promoter of the LGBTQ+ Agenda to the student body and has a child who identifies as LGBTQ+.

But, do these facts really demonstrate a political agenda effort? Or, are they simply the acts of a decent Christian pastor opening his church doors to a community of people who are looking for Christ?

To try to unravel this, it took some comparative religious anthropology

Parkside Community Church keeps a lively Facebook page advertising the actions, events and sermons so I looked back at their posts from the last almost 10 months from November to present as representative of their priorities. This Facebook search revealed a very interesting perspective on what is important to the PCC vs. other Churches in the community. The posts demonstrate a strong connection between why a mob of Westwood residents grew so aggressive and authoritarian in the LGBTQ+ narrative in an otherwise non-descript, healthy and politically balanced town.

According to the subject matter popularity of what is posted on PCC’s Facebook page, Christ is not apparently #1 priority for the congregation.

(There is no mention of these other religious holidays are posted on Facebook: All Saints Day,Christ the King’s Sunday or the Start of Advent (sometimes this starts in Late November/early December.)

Christmas: The 2nd most important and holy observance for Christians is the birth of Christ the Savior.

Immediately following Easter, is Pride Month. Pride month has no religious significance or connection to Christianity. It began 1969 after police raided a gay club sparking a week of civil unrest and protests. Originally it was a day of Pride, but then metamorphosized into a month. So there is no religious significance to the sexuality celebration. And here is the PCC’s activity in relation to Pride.

• April 18: Westwood Pride Advertisement to buy signs to promise Pride in the town. This was in direct response to the school board creating a policy that only the sovereign flag of the nation and the state flag fly outside the school during June

It is peculiar that a Church would be more promotional regarding Pride than it is about Christmas, Lent and Easter.

The only way to determine if this a standard Christian practice was to look into all the other local Churches to see the trends. A review was performed of all the 10 churches in the town of Westwood, where their websites, Facebook pages, Podcasts and content on YouTube were scoured. It is nothing short of grace that the priorities of these churches remain authentic to their mission, the teachings of Christ. (See appendix 1 below) In Westwood, at least, the Pride propaganda machine of the PCC is a complete outlier. None of the 10 other churches promote anything other than Christ and the tenants of Christianity in any forum.

To go a step further, a search was conducted of all churches within a 5 mile radius of Westwood that are part of the Reformed Church Association. In performing the same review of all available public information about the Reformed Churches within a 5 mile radius of Westwood, there are none that promote the LGBTQ+ mission. (See appendix 2 at the end of this article)

And one final analysis. It is interesting to note that when one explores the website of the parent umbrella organization, the Reformed Church of America, there is no focus on any other subject other than living in harmony with Christ and spreading the word of the gospel. By reviewing their public website, their mission is clear…and it is not a mission to promote left wing ideologies, force affirmation of sexual behavior, promote Pride Flags in elementary school or set the expectation that if you don’t offer your complete compliance to your gender-confused child and sacrifice your values on the weaponized alter of Pride, then you are the enemy. Even their 15-year reformation plan to end sexism, ableism and racism does not include the LGBTQ+ agenda. So, PCC is an anomaly. And not only in the RCA movement, but also in the small radius of all other non-RCA and RCA churches in and around Westwood who are decidedly not and not the norm of the RCA movement.

The PCC seems to be a major artery in Westwood that pumps the promotion of the LGBTQ+ agenda. This effort is spread by a secular organization that has apparently replaced the focus of the church from Christ to the new religion of Pride. A Pseudo church teaching the tenants of cancel culture, social justice activism and LGBTQ+ authoritarianism under the weaponized guise of Christian kindness, compassion and empathy. PCC seems to be less of a community in Christ, and more of a community devout to the new religion of pride and LGBTQ+. So it seems, we have a source of this LGBTQ+ push in Westwood, and also a source of the strife and conflict that aggressive Facebook keyboard abusers have used to Hijack this lovely little town.

It sounds far-fetched, it sounds impossible that this could be happening here. It sounds like a conspiracy theory. But it’s more than a theory, it’s a reality.

The lambs of Pride at the PCC have made it clear that LGBTQ+ and politics come before Christ. That’s an ugly combination when left wing totalitarianism is met with aggressive religious self-righteousness.

The future of our community, and the children being raised here, rest in your hands

So, how can you help staunch the tide

1.    Face this head on. It cannot be avoided any longer. The more this is allowed to thrive unopposed, the worse the schools and community will suffer for it. And most of all, the kids. In the last two years, the glorification of LGBTQ+ and gender confusion and transition has rendered middle and high schools deeply indoctrinated with the LGBTQ+ agenda. Making the environment dangerous at worst as kids try to discover themselves, and uncomfortable at best for kids who do not support the alphabet community

2.    Speak to your children honestly about what is happening so they are not targeted and cultivated into the popularity of oppression as the new social currency

3.    Join Parkside Community Church’s Facebook page and keep it under inspection. Educate yourself. Learn who the players are, and what their agenda is.

4.    Write to the Reformed Church of America’s headquarters. Raise your concerns about what is happening in our community as a result of the PCC. You can reach them here at hello@rca.org

5.    Reach out to your neighbors and embrace some conversations. Explain to your neighbors what is happening in the community. Ask for their help in destroying the creep of this across your community. Let them know they don’t have to be afraid to speak out.

6.    And as we launch into elections, ensure you vote for candidates that emulate your values. Do your research and understand what your candidate stands for. Does the candidate stand for academic excellence? Or does the candidate stand for progressive ideologies to replace the academic curriculum?

7.    Go to the school board meetings and push back against the left-wing abuse attacking the district, weaponizing the kids, making a parody of the meetings and discouraging others through intimidation who try to attend.

8.    Don’t be afraid of the shroud of canceling. That’s how people are being controlled by a small vocal minority. They create fear of retaliation and also create the false narrative that opposing points of view are in the minority (they are not) or are racist, bigoted, phobic..etc..And silence/compliance doesn’t mollify them. When you show your throat to authoritarianism and threats, they don’t get gentler. They squeeze your neck harder. But when you push back, say no, refuse to apologize for your own legitimate concerns and POV and stand tall, you remain free in your own autonomy and they have nothing to control you.

9. Don’t allow any of your community members to be canceled by the left. It is their main tactic to assert dominance and control. But they can only do it if people listen to them and cooperate with their canceling. Refuse. Simply REFUSE.

10.    Vote Vote Vote. Now more than ever it’s incredibly important.

11. Commit to being better than the woke mob. Stand up for your family and community. Be factual, be thoughtful and be objective. Be professional in your communication, be peaceful in your approach and strive to improve your community in all the ways the woke mob does not.
