YOUR KIDS, NOT YOUR CHOICE: NJ Policy 5756 Attacks Parental Authority, Redefines Upbringing
List of schools with 5756
Nearly 500 school districts in New Jersey have Policy 5756, which fundamentally violates parents’ right to direct the upbringing of their children. This policy allows government schools to facilitate a child's "gender identity " change and even alter the child’s permanent records without telling parents, much less getting their permission. This completely sidelines parents from raising their own kids, especially when school staff, who are not certified or trained for it, are directing the social transitioning of kids in K-12 schools. Additionally, the policy forces biological boys into girls' private spaces like bathrooms, locker rooms, and sports, ignoring the very real privacy and safety concerns of other students and their parents. This policy strips control away from parents regarding their child's education and well-being.

Many parents in New Jersey genuinely do not believe this policy exists in their local schools, often unaware of its far-reaching implications. Yet, this policy permits schools to initiate social transition, a step traditionally understood as the precursor to more permanent medical or surgical interventions. For children, such a significant and often life-altering path is typically navigated under the careful professional direction of medical doctors and licensed therapists, who are qualified to assess complex psychological and developmental factors. Policy 5756, however, allows K-12 school staff, who possess no medical certifications or psychological expertise in gender dysphoria, to bypass this established process, effectively directing sensitive social transitions without parental knowledge or the involvement of qualified healthcare professionals. This shift usurps the fundamental role of both parents and medical experts, placing children on a potentially irreversible course based on the directives of unequipped school personnel.
Still don’t believe this is happening? The video below shows a teacher in New Jersey admitting to the Edison school board that she was delighted to help a child change a boy’s gender identity to a girl in the school and to hide it from his legal guardian.
Ultimately, the power to drop this controversial policy rests directly with parents and their sustained engagement with their local Board of Education. These elected boards are responsible for setting district-level rules and oversight, meaning they possess the authority to repeal Policy 5756 within their jurisdiction. Without active parental involvement: attending meetings, voicing concerns, demanding transparency, and even electing new board members who align with their values, the policy will remain unchallenged. It is through this direct local action that parents can reclaim their fundamental right to direct the upbringing of their children and ensure that school environments prioritize parental authority and professional standards over uncertified social engineering.
