Schools are trying to use surveys to investigate into your child’s political leanings by asking controversial political questions without your permission.
The current law regarding student surveys, was passed in July of 2021. Schools can administer “anomonous” surveys with prior notification provided to parents. Prior notification IS NOT PARENTAL CONSENT.
This below survey from Caldwell/West Caldwell was given to 7th graders and doesn’t even follow what the law requires.
Its time we go back to previous laws like § 18A:36-34 (2013) which required WRITTEN INFORMED CONSENT from a parent or legal guardian because the schools continually screw this up at the determent of our children. Its important that teachers keep appropriate and professional boundaries with their students.
I don’t think most parents realize what is going on in our schools. I hear all the time we’ll that’s not happening here. My response is always how do you know? Have you looked into it? Have you asked your children? Wake up people.
Ditto on these comments. People don't know and they downplay and deny it. And, unfortunately they selfishly think my kids are ok, so therefore I don't have to be involved.
