I don’t think most parents realize what is going on in our schools. I hear all the time we’ll that’s not happening here. My response is always how do you know? Have you looked into it? Have you asked your children? Wake up people.
Ditto on these comments. People don't know and they downplay and deny it. And, unfortunately they selfishly think my kids are ok, so therefore I don't have to be involved.
Our middle school is in a pilot program called Second Step. It’s supposed to be about goal setting, peer collaboration, gaining confidence and better decision making... you know all the SEL stuff🙄. We’ll instead the kid chat about cutting themselves, pot nouns and personal problems while the teacher just sits there. Parents need to get more involved than ever before!
I hope parents wrote to the school Superintendent and demanded this survey be removed. I got a pronoun survey removed from my girls middle school and had my daughter removed from the teacher's class. Parents have got to fight for their children. Get your heads out of the sand. No one is going to fight your battles for you. Advocacy starts with YOU!

That is 100% correct. Kids won't know to tell you these things unless you put it on their radar
