I thought it was illegal to cyber stalk/wireless track? Do you all know how schools use GO GUARDIAN software?

I don't know exactly how GO GUARDIAN is used. But the school districts claim that they aren't tracking individual movements/footsteps of a specific person, just the 'general location' in the building. Therefore, it's not tracking and is legal. But in my opinion, that's just a thinly veiled excuse- they are tracking students. At least through the other software that I researched.

This was the first time I heard of these programs and couldn’t believe some districts are already implementing them! I was so happy to read this article and I’m going to dig alittle further into these “virtual hall passes”

GoGuardian is a tool districts use to monitor every students laptop in real time. This tool goes to far and is a possible invasion of privacy. GoGuardian also tracks the location of students Chromebook which is a clear breach of the law. This is essentially putting a tracker on your shoelace, especially because the students take the laptops home every nite and weekend. This means they can even be monitored AT HOME. It also has the ability to turn on the laptops webcam REMOTELY without the student knowing. GoGuardian and other tracking devices invade students privacy in schools and at times out of school as well depending on the situation.
