While I think what is happening to the whales, dolphins, and other sea life is tragic (and it is really happening), let's go a little further with this so you can fully understand what you were promised and what you are actually getting.

We've all seen about what's happened at the Shore over time. Whether it was the storm of '62, '92, Sandy, or any other storm there is one thing that was ignored. These storms didn't get more destructive because of global warming. They got more destructive of our overdevelopment at the Shore getting closer and closer to the ocean.

Because of that overdevelopment our government (most Northeast states) pushed their Green initiatives under the guise of safety. You first saw it under your utilities RPS (Renewable Portfolio Standard). Isn't the opening line from the solar sales guy telling you how much money you're going to save putting solar panels on your roof? The reality is, every ratepayer in NJ is paying for those solar panels and you can see it in that extra line item in your bill. Solar panels are about 20% capacity factor and they are an intermittent source of electricity. They also devalue your house. Read the fine print. If you try to sell your house when you are under contract you must sign over the solar agreement to the new owner or pay to have them removed. (You have to replace your roof) How about wind? Onshore wind is about 35% capacity factor and a highly intermittent energy source. How about offshore wind? That is slightly better but still highly intermittent. But it's cheaper, right? Ummm...no. Offshore wind is about 5x the cost of a fossil fuel (natural gas) power plant. It costs more to put up a wind turbine than you will ever get in energy from it. But it's cleaner, right? The more wind or solar you put on the electric system the more fossil fuel assets you have to run in sync in order to balance the system. In order to keep those power plants online you have to pay them capacity payments. So, you are actually running assets used to simply balance the wind assets. Do they include those costs in their numbers? Of course not. As a matter of fact, they do all they can to hide those costs because if the general public knew how expensive and unstable these facilities were they would never support this. What Governor Overbite did was sign extremely generous PPA agreements with foreign companies to destroy our shores. But wait, we aren't done yet. Governor Overbite (love the new hair plugs Murphy....just in time for a Presidential run) signed generous PPA agreements with foreign companies to destroy our shores. In case you hadn't seen it, the original visual docs from Orsted were used to show the general public how these windmills were not visual from the shore. What they forgot to tell you was that they used windmills from one of their projects overseas. The difference? Those windmills were under 500 feet tall (close to the size of the Washington Monument. These ones they are trying to build are 1000 feet tall. They are monstrosities that will affect shipping lanes, bird flight paths, and marine life. Think it's bad now? It's actually worse. The Governor used his legislature to give his rubber stamp agency (the BPU) to squash any type of objection to them bringing the transmission lines into the middle or your town. That's why Ocean City is fighting like hell to stop them from bringing a large transmission line right into downtown. Those same transmission lines are only buried 4 to 5 feet under the seabed. Do you think those EMFs will have no effect on the fish? But wait, there's more. The Governor is proposing that we build 11,000 MW of offshore wind (on top of what they are doing in NY, New England, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia). Where are they going to take this intermittent generation? Their claim is that they are going to take it into the shuttered BL England coal plant and the Oyster Creek nuke plant. Interesting, because those plants only account for about 1000 MW of capacity. So how are we going to move 11,000 MW through those two locations? Oh, you aren't until they do huge upgrades to those transmission lines (that will cost hundreds of millions of dollars). Who's going to pay for that? The ratepayer!! But there's more!! Somebody is going to want to connect the windmills through underwater transmission lines. Who's going to do that? Take a look at none other than Anbaric. Most people probably have never heard of them because they would have no reason to. Who is the President of Anbaric NJ. Janice Fuller. Who is she? She is none other than Frank Pallone's ex Chief of Staff and was Corzine's Director of Cabinet Affairs. She was always the Executive Director of the state Democratic Party. She must have some excellent energy background. Nope, she has none. This is what you are up against. When all is said and done, Murphy will win a Goldman Employee of the Year Award. Energy prices will be significantly higher. Energy security will be significantly lower. There will be no affect in the carbon output related to energy. The good news is, there will be a lot of jobs created as it will take 15 years to fix the complete disaster created by an embarrassment of a Governor who is making a feeble attempt to impress his hardcore green wife and can put another notch on his belt to run for President. If this is allowed to happen we are doomed.

Make sure your local community has passed a resolution demanding a halt to this project, like 50+ others already have. This project would essentially be an end to the Jersey shore as you know it, and to the local fishing industry. It must be stopped! Educate your neighbors and friends on it. No one wants this but Murphy and some Dem politicians. You can’t get something done when no one wants it.

I thought I saw a post saying that. Scammers!

I thought they stopped this project until they figured out what was going on with our sea life?

If not, will send the letter.

Thanks for sharing. Sent the email. Some addresses may be incorrect. Some auto replied with a generic "thank you for your email" and others I received a bounce back that my email was blocked? Odd. Either way, thank you!
