Be careful not to fall into the PROGRAM" mentality. They dont call it "programs" for nothing. A solid lang arts and math are necessary but history and science can be taught using videos, and you tube. Music class, take a voice lesson, piano lesson, drums.etc... Art? go out and draw , use side walk chalk, paint. Gym? go for a walk, ride a bike. Stop the "trying to be like a school" this is the reason you pulled them out right?

We did all 6th grade online with AOP Monarch curriculum. This year for 7th we will use a combination of AOP Monarch online for English, Geo/History, Bible and AOP LifePaks which is workbook format for Science. we are moving to Teaching Textbooks online for Math this year. Since 7th is American History we are doing Prager U and Hillside College classes for Constitutional info and extra credit assignments. She also does a 6 week Archery class fall and spring. Church, Awana and Youth Group round out social interactions and give more depth of meaning to her online Bible class for school. For a kid who was top of class in public school and lost ground after 3 months of virtual in 2020 we are thrilled with home school. Our days are our own. We go trail walking. Visit with friends and cousins. She is learning to bake bread and cook too. We can take our time and still get done in about 3-4 hours. I like that it is not based on Common Core and she will be able to start online college level courses whenever she feel ready enough once she gets to 9th grade. Best thing we could have done.
