Did you know that your children are enrolled in a state government vaccine data base?
Neither did I.
Since 2004, all children born in New Jersey, on or after January 1, 1998, are automatically enrolled through the electronic birth certificate in the New Jersey Immunization Information System “NJIIS” database. You can get a copy of the NJIIS Informational Brochure “Immunization Registry Brochure—Your Child’s Best Shot” before or upon the newborn’s discharge from the facility. If you were born before Jan 1, 1988 you may opt-into this database by filling out a form.
I don’t remember getting this brochure, I don’t remember anyone at the hospital telling me that my infant’s name would be enrolled in a medical database. Eighteen years and 2 kids later, I’m pretty annoyed that I had no idea about this. I did not sign a consent form for the state to use my children’s medical data with their name attached.
The New Jersey Immunization Information System “NJIIS” is a lifespan registry, an online system that collects and consolidates YOU and your children’s vaccination data. The NJIIS is the official Immunization Registry per the Statewide Immunization Registry Act - NJAC 8:57, subchapter 3, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 26:4-131 et seq. (P.L. 2004, c. 138). And somehow this is all HIPAA compliant even though you never signed a consent form to enroll your children.
The state uses your medical data, combined with others, to make population assessments in the event of a preventable disease outbreak and helps communities assess their immunization coverage and identify “pockets of need.” However, they DO NOT need YOUR CHILD’S NAME in this database to use this data. They would only need age, date and location of vaccination to do a population health analysis. Why do you think the state needs your child’s name attached to this data?
Making matters worse, Assemblyman Herb Conaway (The Fauci of New Jersey) has sponsored a bill A4112 to get your COVID vaccine data on this registry.
The joke here, is the phrase “persons who consent to registration” since no one has
signed a consent form for their child’s “automatic enrollment” and now the kids from 2004 are 18 and have not consented to any of this. The 18-year-olds don’t even know that they are on a registry.
I must mention that Herb is up for re-election in November 2023?
And of course Joe Vitale, is sponsoring the Senate bill.
Recently it has been announced that the COVID vaccine has questionable risk-benefit ratios for children. COVID19 vaccines have been shown to have a risk of myocarditis for younger people, which may be higher than their risk of of hospitalization from COVID-19.
My concern is, that tracking your medical information in a database could lead to controlling you with information from that database. Remember how you needed your vaccine card to get into places? What if that picks up again For my critics, I’m not anti-vax. My kids have all their vaccines. I’m antigovernment database tracking my kid’s medical history. Nothing good can come from the government tracking your medical data.

Great article. You can opt out by filling this form https://www.state.nj.us/health/forms/imm-47.pdf
As a well-deserved Eff/U (my favorite pronouns) to Conaway, Sweeney and Gopal, remove your kids from this dumb database, all you need is this form and a copy of their birth certificate: https://www.state.nj.us/health/forms/imm-47.pdf
You'll get a letter to confirm.
I have heard that schools can cross-check to this database, should you file for a future religious exemption...although supposedly you can do that at any time. With the potential C vax, you might want to get out of their NJIIS if you're thinking of filing RE to avoid it. Right now, we don't know how the RE and NJIIS will be used with a potential C shot mandate. Just FYI. We don't have all the facts, and expect them and schools to be crafty - I don't see any upside to being in the registry, or downside to removal.
