Great article. You can opt out by filling this form https://www.state.nj.us/health/forms/imm-47.pdf

As a well-deserved Eff/U (my favorite pronouns) to Conaway, Sweeney and Gopal, remove your kids from this dumb database, all you need is this form and a copy of their birth certificate: https://www.state.nj.us/health/forms/imm-47.pdf

You'll get a letter to confirm.

I have heard that schools can cross-check to this database, should you file for a future religious exemption...although supposedly you can do that at any time. With the potential C vax, you might want to get out of their NJIIS if you're thinking of filing RE to avoid it. Right now, we don't know how the RE and NJIIS will be used with a potential C shot mandate. Just FYI. We don't have all the facts, and expect them and schools to be crafty - I don't see any upside to being in the registry, or downside to removal.

Thank you for posting this. Where do you find your child’s medical record number? (Required on the form)

100% right about opting out being as simple as sending in the form and waiting for the written confirmation from NJIIS that you/your child is out of the database. Zero upside to being on it. I hate how everyone especially children are auto-enrolled without consent in this state.

Districts absolutely get audited on who is using the RE properly in NJ. It happened to my own sons school and he has an RE. You can file for an RE anytime but you cannot use the RE to avoid a specific shot in NJ. It is all or nothing. If you continue to vax after submitting an RE, you not only invalidate the RE for yourself/your child but also risk the entire state losing RE bc of improper usage. It is not fair to the very small % of families that actually submit an RE for their children and don’t continue to vaccinate. Many of them were ex-vax families who experienced injuries. The legislature would love more than anything to remove the entire RE from the whole state like California and NY. They have tried many times before especially Sweeney & Conaway. They absolutely can and will use the NJIIS database and selective RE usage to take away parental rights. We can’t let that happen or give them any reason to believe the RE is being abused. I hope all parents will be doing their homework and paying attention to what is going on.
