I went to Flemington BOE meeting last night and I had a hard time forming the words to what I witnessed. But I’ve seen it before, its when adults are excessively permissive and set no limits and boundaries for teens. Some examples are:
allowing your child to go to a party knowing that there will be pot and alcohol there
financially sponsoring the booze at your house rager for teens
turning a blind eye to a teen’s fake ID
allowing other people’s children to drink alcohol at your home
buying a hotel room your child’s prom night.
signing off on children’s underage tattoos
Parents and other adults are excessively permissive all the time, and now your local high school is not just allowing age-inapropate activities, but getting the kids to defend it, publicly.
At the Hunterdon Central Regional high school meeting last night, kids stood at the podium wearing their rainbow flag and state-issued slave mask to support the school’s lack of limits and boundaries and defend the district’s decision to allow teen drag shows on campus during class time. Where were their parents? Cheering it on. And in true teen like fashion, the kids turned the entire situation on themselves, claiming that anyone who disagreed with drag shows for kids were homophobic, because of course, everyone knows that drag shows aren’t sexual... To all the teens and parents who think drag show’s aren’t sexual, I’d like you to watch Rue Paul’s drag race and count the number of dick jokes and sexual innuendos in each episode. I’d also like to invite you to take your kid to the Candy Cane Lounge in AC and try to get your minor child in to see the Queen Cabaret show. Remember to bring your $1 bills. Heads up, the Casino isn’t letting you in with your kid because they have more sense than you do.
Sorry parents, if you fight for your child’s right to do school sanctioned drag shows, then you are just like that parent who buys the hotel room after prom for your kids. You are excessively permissive to the detriment of your child. Lets be clear, drag is a male performance featuring the stereotype of over sexualized women. Drag IS inherently sexual… its bawdy, risque’, spicy, suggestive, and salacious. In addition, its crude, off-color humor that mocks women. You need to open your eyes and realize this is not a school activity. I personally like drag shows, I like inappropriate humor but I do not share these activities with my minor children and would certainly hope that the school had enough sense not to engage in this activity with kids.
It was bothersome to see some people even use the recent tragedy of the mass murder at the Colorado springs nightclub to justify drag shows in school. Apparently you can’t disagree with any left ideology for kids without approving of the mass murder of adults too. Adults have every right to go to gay nightclubs and be safe. One thing has nothing to do with the other.
What’s even more bothersome is the level of manipulation of the kids from Superintendent Jeff Moore. He has a pattern of putting kids in a vulnerable position to feel ridicule, then the kids internalize this believing that they are being persecuted. Those kids got up and the BOE meeting last night to testify about how the drag show was done in secret because they were afraid of what the other kids would do to them. Why in the world would you put kids in a sexual situation to be taunted and teased by other kids in the school, creating this victim class of students?
In addition, Superintendent Moore put all the kids on the schools sports teams in a position to be victimized and ridiculed this year. The superintendent sent a public letter accusing the kids in his school of being racist at a sports game, without any proof. These are serious accusations that reflected on all the kids, especially on the kids on the sports teams and they are now taunted and teased when going to away games. Moore publicly embarrassed the school and again put children in the victim position.
And again, last spring, Moore created a class of victims in his school by allowing a pro-abortion rally that turned violent on school campus. He created student victims of violence which now the school is engaged in a lawsuit.
Its insane that this pattern of behavior continues and the district is doing nothing about it. Kids were already physically hurt by the policies of this man. How much more will the parents allow?
In the video below you can hear Moore’s bloviated speech, he sung the magical phrase that will get your self indulgent teen anything they want from their school : “equity and inclusion”. The rest of the video is the public comments where you can hear the pain and divide in this school.
No Limits and Boundaries
I was there last night and you hit the nail on the head and said it way better than I could. I sat there thinking, if I had hosted this event in secret and parents found out the cops would be knocking on my door, taking me away in handcuffs. Spot on that these kids have had zero limits and boundaries and parents chose to say yes to everything.
Moore is a cancer to our community and needs to be fired.
Disgusting and a disgrace. What does he mean exactly that schools which don't allow inclusion are worse off? Loving parents ideas of inclusion are good and wholesome, accepting of others. Again, this is what these extremists do, they double speak and tell lies. Total gas lighting. Boycott outside the school everyday.
