It's more government control taking over the job of parents and adults who should be in authority (teachers). It's a false flag to hide the woke indoctrination.

From the link in the article (Office of School Preparedness and Emergency Planning,) Note that the ICS fema training has been updated 1/10/25 (https://training.fema.gov/is/) and is no longer called ICS. EMI replaced its Incident Command System (ICS) curricula with courses that meet the requirements specified in the National Incident Management System (NIMS).

Will this be a push for all the schools to now follow the student ID policies (5517 - SCHOOL DISTRICT ISSUED STUDENT IDENTIFICATION CARDS?)

"The Principal or designee may require a student to present their Identification Card at ANY time during the school day or at any time during a school-sponsored activity on school grounds.? Any student who FAILS to have the Identification Card in their possession or fails to present it when required may be DENIED access to an event or activity and may be subject to appropriate discipline.

No phones, ID policies in place, updated training for emergencies. What’s coming?

How about make a stronger attempt to make learning a fun experience?

Take a more charter School approach to education having them interact with what is being taught.

I was a teacher for 32 years- I had a big tin box by the door, my students knew to put their phones in it as they entered and took it back when class was over on their way out. It was that simple, never had an issue. The governor is clueless. So are many new woke administrators. Restorative justice DOES NOT WORK, lowering standards DOES NOT WORK.

Thank you for sticking up for our kids.

As a retired teacher, I can tell you first hand the phones and laptops are serious problems, especially when the district or school does not have a universal policy about restricting use during the school day. Also, schools have existed for millennia without personal phones. Parents, if you don't trust the school, why are you sending your kids there? Do you really have to text your child to remind him/her to turn in an assignment? Do you really have to text him/her to alleviate anxiety? There are problems on both ends of this. Parents and admin. are deathly afraid of taking away the child's phone. God forbid there is some form of self discipline for anyone in this equation. This is why we graduate functionally illiterate children.

This is one of the few times I’ve agreed with Murphy. Your kid can’t pretend live like it’s 2002 for 7 hours a day.

Then don't permit your children to bring phones to school. I don't need the goverment's coparenting help.

Exactly. My son is respectful and does not take his phone out during classes. No way do I want him leaving this house without his phone. Not in today’s times. Sorry.
