Anyone who tells you that it's OK for a teacher to approach your child about their sexuality is doing a disservice to your child. There needs to be appropriate boundaries between teachers and students.
The New Jersey Teacher's Union encourages teachers lure children into conversations about their sexuality and their gender by giving them NEA approved rainbow lanyards with QR codes that tells the kids “I’m here.”
This is not OK. It is inappropriate for a male teacher to engage your teen daughter about her sexuality just the same as it's inappropriate for him to do it to your son. The same goes for female teachers.
Why do we have different standards for teens who are gay or questioning their sexuality? Why do we not insist on the same protection for these kids?
