Newark is one of the few schools in New Jersey that are still Masked in September 2022. MASKS ARE SO IMPORTANT that a little girl with a medical exemption was denied entrance to her grade school by Newark police officers. The Newark superintendent, Roger León, forced the mother of this child to unenroll and homeschool.
Masks are SO IMPORTANT to Superintendent Roger León, that he denied this 5-year-old child a free and adequate public education, completely ignoring ADA laws… and then he turned around didn’t even wear a mask the school.
Apparently the superintendent is too special to wear a mask. He doesn’t care about kid’s medical exceptions, only his own comfort.
Interesting enough, you don’t even have to be a superintendent to not wear a mask in Newark public schools. Newark police didn’t kick Councilman Michael Silva out of the school for not wearing a mask. And he still leaves this maskless school picture on Facebook because the rules also don’t apply to him either.
Apparent Councilman Michael Silva doesn’t have any control over the mask IN HIS HAND. Its not his fault. <insert hard eyeroll here>
I appreciate that Councilman Michael Silva replied to Anna, but his excuse was still terribly lame.
Now who the heck are these people below? Are they important too? Is this school mask optional or not? Or does this mask rule only apply to children WITH medical exemptions.
I wrote this yesterday and as of now there is an update from Newark Schools, I guess they realized that the adults can’t keep masked either so why should they require it from the kids? Good job to the parents of Newark who complained and made this happen!
Bravo!!!! You have been such a champion for all NJ school children. What a huge win for the Newark kids!!! You are truly amazing…..
I hope you called out these maskless officials. it amazes me, how it doesn't affect their children.
We need to help the Camden city kids. I believe they are masked as well.
