All of this is disturbing but what really is frightening is the attitude that they can hide things from parents. This is the heart of the problem. They think the parents have no rights. Until that changes things will only get worse. 😢

Who can we recommend instead of Strauss Essmay? I'm gonna look into other alternatives.

Excellently written and researched information. As a current school board president, although my comments here are informational and not as a board member or my board.

The key to dealing with policy is not switching from NJSBA to Strauss Essmay - they are the same left leaning policy writing machines.

The key is each board member doing his/her due diligence and reviewing policy recommendations, not just taking a board committee’s recommendations on the policy.

If you are a lone conservative view on your board the time to get things out in the open on a policy is when it’s it’s brought to a vote via resolution and is now open for discussion prior to voting. Having your homework done ahead of meetings is crucial to being able to expose the details of the policy.

Newly elected Majority boards need to strongly consider going out for proposals for new legal and conduct thorough interviews to get an attorney and/or firm that will work for the board and not their own political leanings and who will fully respect the attorney and superintendent work for the board, not the other way around.

Board members, especially those recently elected in November, should not be intimidated by NJSBA threats of micromanaging your CSA and potential ethical violations as a result. As long as you are using policy and bylaws as your tools you it’s not micromanaging - it’s making sure your district is being well run for the people who elected you to do just that for them.

Last spring concerned citizens of New Jersey was going to organize names of people in districts to train and unite to go to BOE meetings to fight this... We must unite somehow someway, There is no fictional horror movie made that is more frightening than this. Thank you for the strength and tenacity to continue to expose this evil.. Where are the churches, mosques, and temples speaking out.. We need God back into this picture, there is no other way, God and prayer back in public schools..

Does anyone else wonder how these policy “numbers” are chosen? Knowing that some organizations are heavily into numerology, it disturbed me that the number “7” in “5756” provides the additional numbers to turn it into 6566. Which has three sixes. Just saying.
