There are way too many questions that MUST be answered.Do we know who approved this book to be purchased and placed in the school library; who suggested this book to be assigned to children as a mandatory reading; was that assignment approved by a curriculum director or principal of school and whether all involved adults read that book prior to mandating children to read it , because if all these educators don’t see a problem with it—- we have a bigger issue here. Only perverted individuals can think it’s OK to introduce 14 years old children to pornography and pedophila. Just like one of the parents rightfully said: the line of trust has been erased. Unfortunately we can no longer trust the materials taught to our children. We have to stay on top of each and every assignment given to our kids at school.

As a father of a freshman daughter (and even just a a decent human), this is abhorrent and disgusting and whoever assigned this needs to be FIRED. WE WILL NOT TOLERATE THIS. The fact that we have to fight school boards to protect our children is horrifying and the FBI has labeled outspoken parents as domestic terrorists. The government wants to own our children.
As a society, we really need to question public school education and who is working for whom. NJEA needs to know that they work for us - us the parent - us the grandparent - us the student. Approximately 58% of our property tax dollars FUND the Washington Township School District. If we as tax payers do not like the service you NJEA offer, then we the tax payer should be able to file a lawsuit in FEDERAL Court requesting a 58% refund on our property taxes because WE DO NOT SUPPORT CHILD ABUSE OR YOUR AGENDA (child abuse= physical, mental, psychological). Time to wage war on the NJEA and hold them accountable! This is child abuse.
This has nothing to do with education! Why is this book in our schools! The people involved Bringing this book into the school system needs to be removed from the school system, and they need to have their license revoked so they could no longer work in the school system. Molesting a child is against the law and pedophiles go to jail promoting this type of child abuse on children is against the law. Arrest the people involved in bringing this book into the school system.
It sickens me to think what kind of person wrote this trash, who published it, how it ended up in the hands of anyone involved in educating kids, and who in their right mind purchased these books for the education system? An issue is that the board and the director of curriculum are unable to produce the minutes from the board meeting when this book was voted on and approved by the board. If you get bored, search Melissa Barnett, Washington Twp’s ELA supervisor. She was “nice” enough to throw away bins and bins full of books when she was hired. Those books were not equitable Or diverse enough.
Wait they take Prayer out of schools, it’s winter Break not Christmas Break, it’s Spring Break not Easter Break, you can’t Have Christmas plats & Easter plays & you can’t sing songs that have anything to to with Jesus’s , God OR Christ! But do you want to bring pornographic material to elementary school kids to middle school kids into high school kids. I see something definitely wrong with the education system and I’m on board for a class action lawsuit. As every normal parent should be who wants to protect their children. I think we need to bring back the Christmas songs the Easter song does these kids should get an education & positive books and they shouldn’t be subject to the crap that they’re bringing in our school system.
