The scariest part is soon we will have a whole generation of this. If you are religious and want to use a Bible,Koran or Torah go ahead. But if you have no faith then use the constitution or book of ethics . The tax payers are paying your salary never take this for granted .I know the world is changing from the 70s 80s but change is not always a good thing ,especially when it creates disorder and chaos. If you make a mockery of the institution then it says that institution is null and void. Most people do this for shock value or as I call the me generation. JFK,Dr Kings values have all been forgotten.

The tradition of swearing on the Bible is an important one with historical significance. The idea of an oath is that it is a promise to God which, if broken, will result in the person being destined for Hell. Thus, oaths were solemn and were considered to be unbreakable. Swearing on porn presumably will cause a woman to get a yeast infection if she violates it, perhaps. Not quite the same, is it? We get the Democracy that we deserve.
